Located at 2613 Smithville Rd, Dayton, OH 45420, The Sweet Retreat operates as an ice cream serving Dayton in Ohio. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 3β10 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (937) 496-5397. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, thesweetretreatdayton.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 424 reviews, which is a strong result for an ice cream in Dayton and suggests consistent service.
Dayton is in Ohio, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Dayton follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Today was my family and I first visit here. We all ordered our ice cream flavors and had fun trying each others. My husband who is a big ice cream guy, said that he would definitely come back just for the orange soft serve. I got the raspberry sorbet handdipped and that was delicious. My son got bubblegum soft serve and it wasn't to our taste but he loved it. The service there was great! We were served by 2 young ladies that were very nice and helpful to anything we needed. We will certainly be back.

I enjoyed the ice cream! I ordered the salty Carmel chocolate pretzel! It was DELICIOUS! Sarah and Carly took great care of us. My daughter had a cyclone, and husband had a hand dipped waffle cone. We were impressed with the cleanliness and the customer service. The staff was friendly and we will definitely be back.

Just took my girls to the Sweet Retreat after a long hot day. Ice cream is the best medicine. Carlee and Sarah waited on us. I got the hand dipped ice cream, my wife got the salted caramel chocolate pretzel, and my daughter got the peanut butter cyclone with caramel and Oreos (pretty sure we saw an entire bag of Oreos dumped in that one). They asked me if I wanted a single or a double and I told them that life is too short, make it a double!!! Portions were fantastic, and the CUSTOMER SERVICE was even better. What in an incredible locally own ice cream shop. My compliments to the staff, management and owners.

I absolutely loved the ice cream from Sweet Treats! It was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. You can tell itβs made with quality ingredients, and every bite was delicious. The portions were generous, and the presentation was great too. If youβre looking for a sweet treat that wonβt disappoint, I definitely recommend giving them a try. Iβll definitely be back for more!

I waited until after three visits to leave this review because I wanted to give The Sweet Retreat a fair chance. I love the idea of a local neighborhood ice cream joint. Unfortunately, the same problems continued across all three visits. The employees are nice, but the biggest issue is the consistently (very) slow service. During my most recent visit, no one was at the walk-up window, and there were only three cars ahead of me in the drive-thru. Each car only ordered only one or two items, yet I still waited almost 20 minutes. Cleanliness and presentation were also concerns. The employeesβ uniforms looked dirty. When I received my cup of ice cream, there was a literal chocolate handprint on the outside of the cup, with melting ice cream running over the edge. That made the order feel careless and unappealing, not to mention it made a mess in my car. The ice cream itself is acceptable, but the quality does not justify the prices or make up for the long wait and poor presentation. After three visits, the overall experience continues to leave a lot to be desired. ------------------- Overall: 3 out of 5 Ice cream quality: β β β ββ Service speed: β ββββ Customer service: β β β ββ Cleanli
